Building Brighter Futures Through Education and Sports for Underprivileged Students
Our Initiatives

Mutisya Foundation is a public charity under U.S. 501(c)(3) and registered as a non-profit organization in New Mexico, USA. It supports underserved students in Machakos, Kenya. Our initiatives include helping needy students access quality education at all levels in addition to nurturing their athletic talents. This equips them with broad skill set that supports their physical and intellectual growth while promoting their academic and athletic pursuits. These students unless there is external intervention, usually drops out of school and become vulnerable to child labor, early marriages, teen pregnancies and drug abuse. These challenges compounds their existing difficulties and creates significant barriers to their well-being and future opportunities. This charity has received USA federal tax-exempt status under 501(c)(3) and thus all donations are tax deductible.
Our Mission

Our mission is to empower needy and marginalized students in Machakos, Kenya, by providing holistic support in both academics and sports, enabling them to realize their potential and break the cycle of poverty. We aim to prevent school dropouts and protect vulnerable youth from drug abuse and early marriages by offering education, mentorship, and opportunities that nurture resilience, discipline, and hope for a brighter future. Even though public schools in Kenya are intended to be free, many needy and talented students still struggle to access education because of the hidden costs that their families cannot afford. Expenses such as uniforms, textbooks, exam fees, transport, and basic school supplies create financial barriers that make it difficult for vulnerable learners to stay in class or participate in any extracurricular activities. From recent World bank data,~36% of Kenyans live below the international poverty line of $2.15 a day/person making it difficult for most families to offer any extra support to their school children. With the help of well wishers, this foundation has partnered with 4 primary (Elementary & Middle) schools and strives to bridge this gap left by limited government funding by providing basic resources needy students need to excel in both academics and athletics. Together, we can inspire the next generation and help them reach their full potential.
