Our Projects
Through the support of others, Mutisya Education Foundation is able to make a positive impact in the community. Join us in making a difference by donating now.
Academic Awards
Academic awards to needy students is a powerful way to motivate and uplift them, especially when they face challenges that can hinder their education. Awards create a sense of pride and belonging, showing students that their efforts are valued despite financial or social hardships. They also act as a positive reinforcement that helps keep vulnerable learners in school while nurturing their potential for a brighter future. Awardees are chosen based on the criteria created by the teachers at each respective school.
Ways to help:
Financial donations are needed to continue our academic awards program.
Mentorship
Students Mentorship and Counseling by mentors other than their immediate teachers help provide alternative perspectives, support emotional regulation and help challenge negative self -perceptions.
Ways to help:
Providing your time and expertise in guiding students.
Technology for Higher Education
Students admitted to the university are required to have essential electronic devices such as laptop which are out of reach for most students from underprivileged backgrounds
Ways to help:
-
Monetary donation to purchase refurbished or subsidized Laptops/Chromebooks. Less than $200 each
-
Donation of used(in working condition) or new laptops/chromebooks
Running Facilities
Ongoing project to upgrade the unpaved school track and field ground used for PE and sports activities. Uneven surfaces and debris occasionally leads to injuries like sprains, fractures, and falls, as most school kids are barefooted.
Ways to help:
-
Financing construction of athletic facilities
-
Donation of small running equipment such as batons, stopwatches, etc.
Ball Games Facilities
Schools lack the facilities needed to form school teams and play sports such as soccer, basketball, netball, volleyball, and handball. Lack of proper facilities and equipment leads to less sports, which reduces school engagement and thus increasing the risk of dropout, drug abuse and early pregnancies. This is in addition to depriving vulnerable talented learners potential pathways such as careers & scholarships related to sports.
Ways to help:
-
Financing construction of athletic facilities
-
Donation of small sports equipment such as balls, cleats, bibs
Athletic Gears
Lack of basic athletic gear negatively affect students by increasing injury risk, hindering skill development, and negatively impact physical and mental health
Ways to help:
-
Financial donation to help purchase low price gear needed to participate in PE and sports
-
Donation of new or gently used athletic gear for students <15yrs
